The Story of SMASH
Hello! My name is Ali Haroon, and I am the founder and owner of SMASH.
This is the first of a series of blogs and updates on the story of how my burger restaurant came to exist and what it’s like being an entrepreneur while still in high school. I’ve had a number of friends, family, and media outlets ask about how I started SMASH, how the charity initiatives we run work, and how I balance running the restaurant with my other commitments, so I wanted to document my experience both for myself and others!
SMASH currently has thirty-two employees and sells hundreds of burgers every day, but we certainly didn’t start that way when the whole enterprise was run off of one grill in my backyard! I’m excited to share the story of this growth, along with updates about current and future plans for improvements to our operations, menu development, social media, branding, and much more on this blog. With two new locations looking to open in the coming months and a marketing campaign ready to launch, SMASH has all kinds of exciting news in the pipeline, so make sure to stay tuned!
